Genghis Grill is a somewhat-new restaurant in the Monroe area. I was excited to see it on my last drive and immediately made plans to eat here that weekend. I was super confused upon walking in and I tried reading reviews beforehand but they weren't helpful with what to expect. So I'll try my best to get you acquainted. The way it works is you are seated at a table or booth. You tell your waitress what drinks you'd like, any appetizers, and what "size" bowl you want for your meal. She will show you sample sizes. I went with the small or medium and hubby went with large. Then she/he brings you your bowls and will guide you if you've never been before to the buffet area. It is not an all-you-can-eat or standard buffet. You fill up your bowl one time only, with as much proteins, veggies, and toppings as you'd like. Stuff that bowl and fill it til it's ready to spill to get your money's worth. I wasn't sure whether this was allowed but saw all the other bowls were larger than mine. I think there is definitely strategy involved! They give you a small container ramekin for a sauce, you can mix 2 together. One of the chefs recommend the Genghis popular one mixed with Honey & Soy, which is what I did and it was pretty tasty. Then you bring the bowl to the grill in the back. They cook it up for you and you tell them which carb you want: rice, fried, brown, noodles, etc. They have a few extra toppings like nuts and crunchies and voila -- back to your table you go. You can sit and watch or they can bring it to you. Taste and cleanliness -- I didn't have any problem. The staff were very nice and while the floor was a bit sticky, nothing worth ruining my meal over. Prices were okay too - not the cheapest but not too much either. Definitely will be going back!!
